Solar thermal water heating systems:
We are fully trained (certificate of competence holder) in solar hot water systems and we are an approved installer of Grant UK and Worcester-Bosch solar thermal water heating systems, pioneering this relatively new (and growing) source of environmentally-friendly home energy. Solar thermal technology is a very efficient renewable energy. It is also very reliable. It works on the principle of light absorption and therefore is not dependent on high temperatures. It is also an environmentally friendly, cost effective and proven technology. It can also reduce your hot water heating bill by up to 65%. Prices for this technology start from around £3,200 (you may also need a twin coil cylinder). However, once installed, you can save up to 65% off your bill every year thereafter, making this a long-term gain for you. You may have heard that you can get a grant towards the cost of installing the kit from the DTI's low carbon buildings programme. This is currently around £400 maximum or 30% of the relevant eligible costs, whichever is the lower for solar thermal water heating. However there are a very large number of criteria that you, as a householder, need to demonstrate in order to qualify for the grant; and many people are finding that the effort and cost of doing so may not be worth the £400 on offer from the government.
